Tipi Village

Tipis East side400
The twenty Sioux style canvas tipis in Tipi Village are arranged in a large circle around a central group fire pit and shady, grassy field. These tipis are a favorite overnight stay for our school groups, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, YMCA’s, and youth groups.

The Tipi (pronounced tee’-pee) is the Lakota Indian name for a conical tent traditionally made of animal skins and wooden poles used by the nomadic tribes and sedentary tribal dwellers (when hunting) of the Great Plains.
